Nursery and Reception Highlights
Back
Nursery have come back to another busy week. We have started reading our new class text, 'Harold and the Purple Crayon' by Crocket Johnson, about a boy who uses his imagination, alongside a purple crayon to draw an imagined world. We have been exploring imagination and what it means to imagine. We have been practising our independence again and making sure we try something before we ask for help.
This week in PHSE, Reception have been learning about healthy eating and the five different food groups. The children made fruit salad, and we talked about how to safely use the knife. In Maths, they have been learning about the composition of the numbers ‘9’ and ‘10’. We have been continuing to use part-whole models and 10 frames to help learn and be confident in counting 1-10. In T4W we have started reading our new book called the ‘Supertato’. The children have been learning about villains and superheroes, how to write wanted posters and write fact files on ‘Supertato’.
