Ofsted

Who are Ofsted?

As you may be aware, Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills) are the Government agency responsible for inspecting and regulating services which care for children and young people. This includes inspecting schools and educational establishments for learners of all ages.

Inspections follow a rigorous framework and are undertaken by a team of inspectors. All schools are expected to provide a standard of education for their pupils which is ‘Good’ or better.

TLAP's inspection?

TLAP is an Outstanding school. It received an ungraded inspection on 25th and 26th June 2024. The inspection identified many of the school’s unique features, identifying pupils as having a thirst for learning and everybody within our school striving to ‘be the best they can be!’ We are a school of high aspirations.  Our bespoke curriculum enables pupils to make sense of the world around them whilst developing subject knowledge. Inspectors report that:

  • The curriculum is broad, exciting and ambitious for all, resulting in pupils who love learning.
  • Pupils enjoy the ‘museum learning’ approach to finding out more. They are curious, ask questions and learn well from experts, experiences and artefacts.
  • Reading is the bedrock of the school’s work. There is an absolute determination among staff that all pupils will learn to read and develop a love of books. Children in early years learn to retell stories. Pupils adore their teachers reading to them.
  • Pupils learn about diversity and discrimination at an age-appropriate level. Staff encourage pupils to challenge stereotypes and injustice. Pupils offer their own thoughts on these issues maturely. They embrace and celebrate difference.

We are pleased that our approach continues to be validated by Ofsted.

Do Ofsted listen to Parents?

Ofsted have created an online site called Parent View which gives parents the chance to tell Ofsted what they think about our school. Your views are collected and then used by Ofsted for a variety of purposes, particularly ahead of any inspections. Parent View provides school with useful information, please help us by registering your views at parentview.ofsted.gov.uk.
