The Langley Academy Primary - "Outstanding" Ofsted 2018

Tracey Bowen

Welcome to The Langley Academy Primary!

The Langley Academy primary opened to pupils in September 2015. As part of The Arbib Education Trust, we offer children A School of Choice – A School for Life. Our pupils are at the heart of all we do. We are committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for every child by offering a holistic, broad and balanced, child-centred curriculum. Our calm but vibrant environment, helps our children to become confident, reflective and resilient. We are sure that this approach will equip our children with the skills to enable them to become the best they can be, and succeed at anything they put their mind to. We are committed to creating independent, life-long learners. Our Outstanding ‘Ofsted’ judgement shows our approach works.

Our Provision

The Langley Academy Primary opened to 90 Reception pupils and their parents on 7th September 2015. Since our first day, we have worked in collaboration with parents to ensure the children are given the best possible learning opportunities. Children are encouraged to follow their own lines of enquiry on a day to day basis, through Curiosity, Exploration and Discovery. This is further aided by staff’s commitment to follow ‘in the moment planning’. Visitors, including Ofsted often comment on how confident our children are.

Our opening years have been a huge success and the children’s academic attainment has exceeded national averages. We look forward to enabling all of our children to succeed each year and become the ‘best they can be’.

From a Headteacher’s point of view, it is difficult to summarise the pride I feel watching the children develop and succeed. I relish watching our vision turn into reality, this includes securing an Outstanding Ofsted judgement.

It is important to us that we maintain a family feel and continue to work in collaboration, to give our children the best. I look forward to working with you as our journey continues.

Ofsted Report

We are very proud to announce that we have been judged ‘outstanding’ in every category of our first Ofsted inspection (which took place on 10 and 11 July 2018).

As Headteacher, I am genuinely proud and excited of our report. From the beginning of this journey in 2014, I have always believed we would develop and build a school that meets the needs of the local community.

This outstanding judgement validates that our teaching and learning approach of moulding the curriculum to meet the interests of the children, to deepen their learning, really works. This judgement reflects the tireless work of the teachers, leaders and every member of school staff to benefit the children and families that we work with.

I am sure you will be keen to learn more about our child-centred curriculum, driven by an ethos of Curiosity, Exploration and Discovery, which the inspectors described as ‘extraordinary’.

2020 Admissions

We know that choosing the right school can be a difficult decision. However, we are very confident that you will be keen to join our ‘School of choice: School for life’.

Throughout the Autumn term, we will host a variety of Open Days, when you can meet the Headteacher, see the school in operation and speak to staff. Our most informative session is our Saturday Open Day, this will be held on Saturday November 30th.

We can only cater for small numbers of parents/carers during the weekday open days and these have been very popular in the past.
