Safeguarding
At The Langley Academy Primary the well-being, health and safety of all of our pupils is at the forefront of all we do. As such all staff, governors, trustees and volunteers are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.

Do staff receive adequate training?
All staff, volunteers and governors undertake annual training so they are aware of school protocol, policies and procedures. This means staff know what to look out for to spot and recognise signs of abuse. Listening is an important skill in order to keep children safe and staff are able to listen carefully. Regular refresher training, helps staff to keep up to date with the latest information. As a supportive community, children know to share any concerns with staff. Parents and carers are welcome to read our policy, which is available on our website or via the school office.
Does TLAP share information with other professionals?
The best interests of the children will always be our priority. As such, there are times we will need to record, monitor and share information with other agencies, such as Social Care or the police. We will share concerns about our pupils with the child’s parents/carers unless we have reason to believe that such a move would not be in the child’s best interest.
What should I do if I am worried?
If you are concerned about a child’s welfare, please record your concern, and any observations or conversations heard, and report to one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) as soon as possible the same day. Do NOT conduct your own investigation.

What should I do if I am worried about a member of staff?
If your concerns relate to the actions or behaviour of a member of staff then you should report this to Tracey Bowen, Headteacher.
If the concern relates to the Headteacher, concerns should be reported to Dr Oona Stannard, chair of the Trust.

Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP)

If you are concerned about online abuse or the way someone has been communicating online, you can contact CEOP for support. Clicking the CEOP button below will guide you on whether to make a report, explain what happens next, and outline how CEOP can help.
CEOP is here to keep children safe from sexual abuse and grooming online. You can make a report directly to the CEOP Safety Centre by clicking on the CEOP button above if something has happened online which has made you feel unsafe, scared or worried. This might be from someone you know in real life, or someone you have only ever met online. CEOP take all reports seriously and we will do everything we can to keep you safe.
As well as making a report to the CEOP Safety Centre, the CEOP Education website has information and advice to help you if something has happened to you online.
Are you being bullied?
CEOP are unable to respond to reports about bullying but if you’re being bullied and would like to talk to someone in confidence right now you can speak to Childline on 0800 1111 or talk to them online – no worry is too big or too small.
