Year Five and Six Highlights
Back
This week, Year 5 has been busy with exciting learning opportunities! As part of Safer Internet Day, the children explored how to stay safe online. They learned how to identify suspicious emails (such as scams and phishing attempts), ways to protect their online profiles and how to enjoy gaming safely while minimising risks. These essential skills will help them navigate the digital world with confidence and awareness. In English, the children planned and wrote their independent suspense stories using the Talk 4 Writing approach. They applied their knowledge of suspense techniques, ensuring their writing kept readers on the edge of their seats! In PE, the children showcased their hard work in gymnastics by combining all the skills they have learned over the term into a fantastic group performance. Their teamwork, control and precision were truly impressive!
This week, Year 6 took part in Safer Internet Day on Tuesday, engaging in various group and partnered activities to explore online safety. A highlight was sorting phishing scams and feeding the fish the safest messages, which the children found both fun and educational. Alongside this, they worked hard to complete their newspaper articles, showcasing their writing and reporting skills. It’s been a busy and creative week in Year 6!
