Year Five and Six Highlights
BackIt has been an amazing week in Year 5. Jemison class had a fantastic birthday celebrating their name’s sake. The children were amazed to find out all about Mae Jemison’s accomplishments and how she overcame obstacles. The children had a fantastic time when observing a science experiment, whereby a mini rocket was made and launched trough mixing vinegar and bicarbonate soda. In RE, we have been focusing on the significance of God and the Prophets in Islam. In History, we’ve been diving into the world of Anglo-Saxon Britain, exploring how clothing and fashion differed significantly from today. WOW Year 5, we have been blown away with the amazing home learning that has happened this half-term! Well done to everyone for their hard work!'
This week has been full of exciting activities across various subjects in Year 6! In RE, the children engaged in a lively debate about whether Science and religion conflict or complement each other, presenting strong arguments on both sides. In Science, they planned and carried out an experiment, recording their heart rates after different exercises to explore how physical activity affects the body. Meanwhile, in Geography, The children got creative by designing their own OS map of London, complete with custom symbols they placed on the map. As a reminder to parents, please check your child's planner for any important communication, including red and yellow cards.
