Year Five and Six Highlights
BackIt has been another busy week in Year 5. The children were very proud of themselves on Monday when performing in the spring concert - all their hard work shone through! On Wednesday, the children had the opportunity, as apart of science week, to visit the labs at TLA to learn about chromatography to extend their learning of method of separation as well as how to extract the DNA of strawberry. It was amazing to see how engaged the children were.
This week in Year 6 we have been busy celebrating Science week, the Spring Concert and Comic Relief. For Science week we have been learning about how light can be used to tell the time (such as Sundials). The children have even been able to go to Science show where they have witnessed some fascinating experiments! Year 6 also took part in their last spring concert performance. Finally for Comic relief, Year 6 have been designing their own swim hat in a national competition and the children have been able to come in their own clothes – even football kits! This has helped raise money for charity while making our classrooms very colourful.
